JOURNEYMAN RAP marks the 19th project from international Hip Hop artist Jahi. True to his foundation of socially conscious, life-affirming Hip Hop, this album broadens his scope with new explorations of love, legacy, and reflection—set against fresh soundscapes including Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Roots Reggae.

At just over 40 minutes, the album offers a focused musical journey driven by lyricism that remains more cerebral than celebrity. It deepens Jahi’s legacy as an artist committed to speaking truth to power while also embracing joy, range, and playfulness—an authentic snapshot of what a Hip Hop artist over 50 can sound like.

Recorded primarily at Idea Studios in Honolulu and KOO Labs in West Oakland, with artwork by Ghanaian artist @Afroscope, JOURNEYMAN RAP blends classic Hip Hop sensibilities with a global, border-crossing aesthetic. The result is an album built for road trips, long drives, and DJs looking to add diverse rhythms and textures to their mixes.
